Privacy Policy

Most Words Calculator workflows run on your device. This policy identifies the few network requests the site makes, what they contain, and the choices available to you.

Plain-language summary

We do not require an account, sell your text, or use drafts to train a model. Text tools and document extraction run in your browser. A URL reaches our server only when you ask the Web Page Word Counter to retrieve a public page. The Google tag starts with Consent Mode v2 storage denied; optional Analytics cookies and full measurement begin only after you accept Analytics in the consent panel.

Who operates this service

Words Calculator is the service name for https://wordscalculator.net. Privacy, security, access, deletion, and policy questions can be sent to wordscalculator@gmail.com. This policy applies to the public website and its tools; an external website you choose to visit follows its own policy.

Local text and browser storage

Counting, formatting, cleanup, comparison, list sorting, capitalization, random-word filtering, number conversion, and page estimation execute in browser JavaScript. Draft recovery uses session storage in the current tab. Persistent local storage is used only when you choose a remember option or save a tool preference such as theme, editor settings, or a writing target. It also stores the current consent choice so optional services are not activated against that choice. Browser storage is tied to that browser profile; Words Calculator does not sync it to an account.

Clear removes a tool's stored draft where that control is available. You can remove all site storage through your browser settings. Blocking storage can disable recovery and saved preferences without preventing the main local calculations.

Documents stay on the device

The current Document Word Counter reads supported files with browser-side parsers after you press Analyze. The selected file, extracted text, and report are not posted to the Words Calculator server. Processing uses browser memory and is bounded by the visible file and extraction limits. A generated download is created on the device.

Public webpage analysis

Browsers cannot reliably retrieve arbitrary public pages because of cross-origin restrictions, so this is the one analysis workflow that uses our server. The server receives the URL and options you submit, validates that the destination is public, checks the applicable robots rules, retrieves a bounded response without your browser cookies or credentials, and returns structured extraction results. It blocks local and private-network destinations, non-standard ports, oversized responses, unsupported content, and excessive requests.

Application code does not create a permanent copy of the fetched HTML or extracted page text. The service uses a derived IP-address value and timestamps for a short rate-limit window. Normal hosting and security infrastructure can receive an IP address, request time, requested path, user-agent header, response status, and similar delivery information. Do not submit a URL containing secrets or personal tokens in its query string.

Google Fonts

The font browser can request stylesheets and font files from Google's font domains when you preview or restore a Google Font. Google receives the network information needed to deliver those resources, such as an IP address and browser request headers. When an export needs an embeddable font file, our font endpoint receives only the chosen family, weight, and style and retrieves that font resource. Neither request includes the wording of your document.

Cookies, analytics, and advertising status

Google Analytics 4 is available through measurement ID G-DBNM9QBBP3. The Google tag loads with Consent Mode v2 defaults set to denied before its configuration. While Analytics permission is denied, Google may receive limited cookieless signals, including consent state and ordinary technical request information, but our integration does not allow Analytics storage. If granted, Google Analytics can use first-party identifiers such as _ga and _ga_DBNM9QBBP3 to distinguish browsers and sessions. Our implementation does not intentionally send draft text, uploaded files, extracted document text, cleaned output, comparison text, or converter input as Analytics events.

Ignore keeps optional Analytics off. Customize lets you enable or disable Analytics, and Accept cookies enables every optional service currently in use. Cookie settings in the footer reopens the controls. Withdrawing Analytics permission returns Analytics storage to denied, stops full Analytics measurement, and attempts to remove its known first-party cookies. Limited consent-mode signals can continue without optional cookies. See the Cookie Policy for storage details.

No Google advertising code or advertising cookie is active. Before ads are introduced, the policies and consent version will be updated and visitors will be asked again. Where Google requires a certified consent management platform for advertising, the current custom consent panel will not be treated as a substitute.

Sharing and service providers

We do not disclose draft text to data brokers or sell it. Hosting, security, DNS, and font-delivery providers process the limited technical information necessary to deliver their service. Google can receive the limited consent-mode signals described above; after Analytics consent, it also receives and processes the full Analytics information under its applicable terms. A public page's server receives the retrieval request from Words Calculator when you submit its URL. Information may also be disclosed when legally required or when reasonably necessary to protect the service and its users; this does not create permission to collect more information than needed.

Children and sensitive information

The service is a general-audience utility and does not knowingly request a child's name, contact details, school record, or other profile data. Do not place highly sensitive personal, medical, financial, legal, or confidential information into any online service unless you have assessed the risk. Local processing reduces transfer, but the device, browser extensions, and operating system remain outside our control.

Your choices and requests

  • Use local tools without creating an account.
  • Decline persistent draft storage and clear existing site data.
  • Decline Analytics cookies and full measurement, customize them before use, or withdraw permission from Cookie settings in the footer.
  • Avoid the server-backed webpage tool or remove sensitive URL parameters.
  • Block Google Font requests; system fonts and core counting still work.
  • Ask what limited information is associated with a support exchange, or request deletion of an email you sent, subject to legal and security obligations.

Security and retention

The site uses HTTPS, bounded inputs, content-type checks, private-network blocking, security headers, and rate limits. No website can promise absolute security. Keep your own copy of important work and report a suspected vulnerability privately through the Contact page.

Browser drafts remain until the applicable session ends, you clear them, or you remove site data. Webpage extraction exists for the request and response cycle rather than a searchable archive. Support emails remain in the mailbox as long as reasonably needed to answer, document, or secure the request.
