Editorial and Content Quality Policy
Every published explanation must help a reader operate a real feature, interpret a result, understand a limit, or verify an important rule.
Reviewed
Search visibility is a discovery channel, not the purpose of a page. We do not publish thin tool-name variations, copied competitor text, unsupported superlatives, or paragraphs added only to reach a word count.
Product evidence comes first
A tool page is written from the current interface, accepted input, calculation or transformation rules, defaults, selectable options, privacy boundary, exports, errors, and known edge cases. Copy should not promise a feature because another website lists it. If the implementation changes, related guidance and tests must be reviewed with it.
Research hierarchy
Primary sources are preferred for platform limits, formulas, standards, browser behavior, file formats, accessibility requirements, privacy disclosures, and Google policies. A secondary source can help identify a question or practical example, but it does not replace a platform's current documentation. Sources are linked near the relevant statement when a reader benefits from direct verification.
Original and page-specific writing
Each guide must reflect decisions unique to its tool. The page should explain what enters the calculation, what stays outside it, when a result can differ, and what the user should do next. We do not swap a tool name into a reusable essay, create doorway pages for near-identical phrases, scrape and lightly rewrite another site, or combine unrelated topics to capture traffic.
Search language without keyword stuffing
Ordinary phrases such as “word counter,” “character counter,” or “number to words” can appear where they accurately describe a workflow. We avoid lists of awkward variants, repetitive headings, hidden text, fabricated locations, and claims that a keyword frequency guarantees ranking. Titles and descriptions must identify the page honestly rather than use clickbait or promise an outcome the tool cannot deliver.
Accuracy and reproducibility
Exact logic is checked with representative fixtures, boundary cases, and regression tests. Estimates display or document their assumptions. Extraction tools expose the selected scope, parser evidence, warnings, and a preview where practical. A known ambiguity is explained instead of being hidden behind “100% accurate,” “perfect,” or “guaranteed” language.
Automated assistance
Automated systems may assist with research organization, draft wording, implementation, tests, and review. Their output is not treated as a source or credential. Before publication, claims should be compared with the working product and authoritative references; links, calculations, spelling, headings, and data boundaries should be checked. The AI Usage Policy explains this boundary in detail.
Experience, expertise, and trust
Words Calculator does not invent authors, degrees, professional credentials, customer testimonials, usage figures, awards, first-hand case studies, or research results. We identify what the tool actually does, show calculation assumptions, publish limitations, and avoid presenting general utility content as professional advice.
Advertising and commercial independence
Advertising is not currently active. If introduced, it will be visually distinguishable from navigation, editor controls, results, file buttons, and download actions. We will not ask users to click ads, disguise an ad as a tool action, change a count for a sponsor, or hide a limitation because it affects monetization. A paid relationship or affiliate link, if ever used, will be disclosed where it appears.
Review and correction workflow
- Confirm the issue against the current public feature or source.
- Identify whether logic, copy, metadata, schema, or tests are affected.
- Correct all affected surfaces rather than editing one isolated sentence.
- Run relevant automated checks and a production build.
- Update the visible review date only after a substantive review.
Reproducible errors, outdated links, and unclear disclosures can be sent to wordscalculator@gmail.com. Include the page URL and the specific statement or result. A correction request does not guarantee agreement, but it will be evaluated against the product and available evidence.
What we do not promise
Compliance with Google Search guidance does not guarantee indexing, traffic, rankings, rich results, or advertising approval. Those systems consider many site-wide and external signals. This policy describes the standard we apply to our own work; it is not a claim of endorsement by Google or another platform.
